The Amazing Bavarian Stompers

The Oompah Night on Saturday 26th February was a resounding success with the help of "The Amazing Bavarian Stompers" encouraging all to join in the fun, especially me as a reluctant stage participant! There was a mixture of rousing songs from bavarian Bier Kellar songs to sea shanties and always a crowd pleaser, the dam buster songs! As the evening got under way there was lots of physical activity in the form of prosting in the true bavarian style, stood on your chair and clinking your glass with your neighbours on your table, this was done with much gusto from all concerned! The linking of arms and swaying from side to side with the people on your table was definitely mandatory as to was the clapping of your hands which all helped to provide a fantastic atmosphere for the evening.

A very tasty and generous helping of Lancashire Hotpot with apple pie and cream to follow was provided for our supper, allowing us to time to gather our energy for the return of the Bavarian Stompers with their wonderful brand of entertainment.

A raffle was held in one of the breaks with a good selection of prizes, unfortunately I didn't win, much to my husbands disappointment as he had his eye on a particular malt whisky!

The evening ended with a disco for the ones who still had the energy left to strut their stuff,( me included ) once the "Stompers" had been finally allowed to leave after calls of "more! more!" from an appreciative audience.

As you can gather I had a great time and I hope to enjoy more events at the Memorial Hall and if you have any suggestions as to what you'd like , maybe an Irish Night, a Ceilidh if you fancy doing the highland fling! or a Hoe down to good ole Country and Western music, let the Club Day Committee know.

Many thanks to the Club Day Committee for providing us with a great night out.
