'Male Goshawk' missing since 17th Sept.2008
A mature male Goshawk went missing while being flown at the Singleton Hall Estate. The tracking transmitter worn was later found in the woods. The bird was flying towards Singleton Village. He is wearing both LBR and D of E rings, also hunting jesses. The Goshawk is the size of a herring gull. In flight, the Goshawk has broad, blunt wings and a broad tail and has a a penetrating shriek, "hi-aa". It is thought that he may use the woods to roost. Any sighting please contact the owner. Do not try to bring this bird down or entice him with food. Certain foods can kill him and only an experienced handler should do this.

Strange Large Animal -
We recently received the following report:
I've just driven down Kirkham rd and a large cat walked across the road infront of the car. It was a bit bigger and longer than a fox with a cat like face and tale. It was light brown with dark spots. I think I spotted the same animal before xmas in the Willows graveyard in Kirkham as it frightened me.
Has anyone else seen it? Does anyone know what it was, or is??
Its been spotted again. Lower Lane area near Quakers Wood (07.02.08)
And there is more!
The plot thickens!! Reports have been heard (in the co-op!) that some chickens
and a parrot have gone missing from Kirkham rd, also last night someone told
me that they had heard a farmer down there talking that one of his animals
had been killed and he didn't think it was a fox that did it?? Allegedly!!!
