On Tuesday 14th August 2012, DigiEnable will be at The Rawstorne Centre, Freckleton to begin the second stage of our community consultation, and we would like to invite you to join us.
We have been commission by The Frecklestorne project to find out whether residents in Freckleton would support a new multipurpose centre, and what they would like it to be used for. This is your opportunity to have your opinions recorded and influence how the plans for the centre may progress.
After spending three days in the area during June, we have established that the majority of people we spoke to would like to see a new centre. We now want to know more about how the centre might look, what activities could be hosted there and how this may affect you. We will be in The Rawstorne Centre from 2pm-5pm and from 7pm-9pm on the 14th August. We would value your time in helping us to take this consultation forward. Light refreshments will be provided. If you know anyone else who may be interested in having their say please let them know. If you would like to know more about the project, details are on our website at www.digienable.co.uk/frecklestorne - Liz Hardwick - DigiEnable

We didn't manage to get any pictures at all as they did not follow the 'wet weather' route and instead managed to avoid us completely. If anyone has any pictures that they would like to share with us then please send them in.

Olympic Torch Bearer
Brian Porter has now had official confirmation that he is part of the London 2012 team. He will be carrying the Torch in Lytham St Annes on Saturday June 23rd 2012.
We will know the exact location around 4 weeks before and we will keep you informed. The time is likely to be between 6am and 7.30 am and will be somewhere between St Annes and Warton.
Brian said: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be part of the Olympic Torch Relay. It is a real honour for Freckleton as well. Of the 60 million people in the Country they have chosen just 8000: for me to be one of those 8000 is overwhelming. It will be an early start, but it will be light and hopefully the sun will shine. I hope everyone in Freckleton will make the effort to come and see the Torch. This is something we will never see again in our area."
For some time now the 'Frecklestorne Project' has been a matter for consideration and much discussion. This project is based on findings in the Freckleton Parish Plan of 2005, where it was established that the local community would benefit from a facility which could accommodate various social and sporting activities.
The Frecklestorne Project Committee has now successfully secured some lottery funding to conduct a survey to be carried out within the local community. This will establish exactly what facility would be feasible and sustainable for the village of Freckleton and surrounding area. A Lancashire based company called 'D.I.G.I. Enable' will conduct this survey over the next few weeks.
There will be a meeting at the Rawstorne Centre on Bush Lane at 7pm on Thursday 7th June when D.I.G.I Enable will present the format for this survey. Potential users of the proposed new facility are invited to attend the presentation.
It is really important that as many interested parties as possible attend this meeting. It will perhaps be the one and only public opportunity to hear about any such possible developments for Freckleton and the sole chance to share opinions on how to move the Frecklestorne Project forward. Your support will help to determine the nature and extent of any new building or scheme. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 7th June at 7pm at the Rawstorne Centre.
Kind Regards, Frank Towers.
Chairman of the Frecklestorne Project Board.
