Freckleton.org update - 01.08.15
Our regular visitors have probably noticed the changes to the site? As the first step in our update we have moved to using CSS layout rather than the out-dated table layout we have used for years. Hopefully we haven't broken too much. We have also implemented a new photo gallery system for the Club Day, Half Marathon and Fun Run pictures. There will be many more changes in the coming weeks as the site is updated. Once we have the structure of the site sorted we will be updating most of the graphics! Please let us know if the new format is causing you problems.

Lancashire Water Supply - statement from United Utilities AS A PRECAUTION, PEOPLE IN BLACKPOOL, CHORLEY, FYLDE, PRESTON, SOUTH RIBBLE AND WYRE ADVISED TO BOIL THEIR DRINKING WATER United Utilities is advising customers in these areas to boil their water for all drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth as a precaution until further notice. People can continue to use tap water without boiling for general domestic purposes such as bathing, flushing toilets or washing clothes Routine tests at Franklaw water treatment works in Preston detected traces of cryptosporidium and although the traces are low the company is advising customers to boil their water as a precaution. Martin Padley, Chief Scientific Officer at United Utilities, said: “The advice is being given purely as a precautionary measure as we carry out additional tests today. “We apologise for the inconvenience but the health of our customers is absolutely paramount.” Customers are asked to take extreme care when boiling water because of the danger of scalding. Simply bring water to the boil and let it cool. United Utilities is monitoring water supplies and is hoping to be able to lift the boil water advice as soon as possible.
UPDATE - 15.08.15
The latest information from United Utilities is the current restrictions will remain in place until at least the evening of Thursday 20th August.
UPDATE - 21.08.15
United Utilities are not even providing a 'guesstimate' of when the problem will be resolved! On Wednesday 19 August they started to put ultra violet rigs on certain parts of the network which will help to kill off what small traces of the bug remain, alongside the flushing they continue to do. For the latest information refer to their web site <here>

Club Day 2015 Pictures
Not the best or worst weather for the Club Day procession, a light breeze and intermittent drizzle. As usual, there were a few uncooperative residents who left their cars parked on the procession route. The pictures for 2015 can be found on our Club Day pages <here>.

Freckleton Half Marathon Pictures
We had a number of issues this year but will still managed to take pictures of most of the runners from both the Half Marathon and the Fun Run. Unfortunately, I failed to get back in time to catch the first half dozen or so runners so I think the first runner shown coming back was around number seven in the race (sorry). I also had to leave for the airport so if you didn't get back to the end of Green Lane before 16:30, I missed you (sorry again). The pictures can be found <here>
